Art and community as the main ingredients in Mango’s new editorial

The editorial, shot at an intimate dinner in London, highlights friendship and spending time with friends.

The sisters Quentin and Jemima Jones hosted the event, surrounded by their closest friends

In this lovely story about friendship and community, Mango invited the Jones sisters to host a dinner among friends. At the event, Jemima Jones, the founder of the famous catering company Tart London, and her sister Quentin, artist and photographer, opened the doors to inspire us and welcome in the festive season.

The guests at this event were celebrities from the world of fashion and culture, part of the group of friends of the hosts: Waris Ahluwalia, designer and actor; the married couple Greta Bellamacina, actress, film maker and poet and Robert Montgomery, acclaimed graphic artist. Also Sofía Sánchez de Betak, Mango ambassador and creative director; Hikari Yokoyama, specialist consultant in art and design and finally, the model Kit Butler.

The 70s were the main inspiration of the collection, with combinations of lace, leather and velvet. Shiny details and sequins and fringes feature as elements in all their different forms to add to a touch of fun and elegance to any design. For men, the key elements of the season were basic combinations of jackets and crossed coats. Also, one of the must-have combinations are velvet suit jackets in different colours combined with knitwear sweaters.

Through the lens of the acclaimed photographer Cass Bird this editorial transmits the essence of evenings among friends, adopting the company values of unity, a key part of the brand. The value of community translates into various Mango initiatives and campaigns, in which friendship, time spent together and one’s own identity are ever-present in the discourse it transmits.
